Word reCAPTCHA? No, we are not talking about some spell. It is a service provided by Google free of charge. ReCAPTCHA serves to protect against unwanted spam or inappropriate content that you would not usually see when visiting the website. CAPTCHA is a turing test that is used to differentiate between man and machine. The Turing test is easy to solve for humans, however, hard for bots or other software.
How does reCAPTCHA look like?
Good question, especially if you think you didn’t see it yet. It can be in the form of pictures, mathematical examples, a checkbox, but even, it can be invisible! The invisible one analyzes how you work on a given web page, example, writing style or movements that are performed by the mouse.
Versions, versions, versions…
The “I’m not a robot” checkbox expects the user to click the checkbox that indicates that the user is not a robot. User can then pass immediately or urge the user to verify whether or not they are human.
This is the easiest way, and only two lines of HTML are needed to set up this checkbox.
In conclusion, we can conclude that v3 should not affect v2 in any way and make it obsolete. As for the invisible ReCaptcha in v2 & v3, both work very differently (v3 may not be suitable for all types of pages). Each version has its advantages and disadvantages, and since this is not an exception for v3, we assume that v2 will stay with us for some time and will continue to be used.
